Shannon Martino is an archaeologist and art historian living in Chicago, Illinois, who specializes in archaeological ceramic illustration and ceramic analysis. Shannon graduated from the University of Chicago with an honors BA in Anthropology and earned her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in Art History. Her work has focused on clay figurines from the eastern Balkans and Turkey as well as Chalcolithic ceramics and she is currently co-director of the Kavakaberd Archaeological Project in Armenia. She has been a faculty member of Morton College in Cicero, IL since 2016. In addition to her illustration work and publications she has edited several articles, journals, and books including: Bulgarian Folklore, Bulgarian Ethnology, Pietrele Lithics, and Yabalkovo.
